What Must Be Approved Before Bulk Production?
Approve the pull-on opening, high-rise position, waist-to-hip balance, thigh and knee fit, 7/8 length, ankle opening, side-pocket placement and selected fabric on the finished garment. State whether measurements apply before or after finishing. If recovery, shrinkage, opacity or dimensional limits matter, define the method and acceptance criteria in the buyer specification; this page does not claim unverified results.
High-Rise Pull-On Fit Control
A pull-on jean must pass over the hip and return to the intended waist position. Waist opening, high hip, full hip, front and back rise, waistband depth and fabric behavior must therefore be developed together. A waist that looks correct when relaxed may still be difficult to dress or may gap after movement.
During sampling, review the waistband from the front, side and back and confirm the intended wearing position. Check access over the hip, top-edge rolling, waist gaping and the transition into the upper hip. Approve the actual project fabric and fit sample together rather than transferring dimensions from a different stretch quality.
Skinny-Leg and 7/8-Length Proportion
The close silhouette depends on the relationship between thigh, knee, calf, inseam and ankle opening. The 7/8 length also changes where the hem sits on the lower leg, so the approved length should be tied to the target size and grading plan rather than described only as “cropped.”
Define thigh, knee, calf, inseam, outseam and leg-opening POMs. Review the hem position with the intended footwear and target body measurements. Across sizes, check that the leg remains visually balanced and that the ankle opening can be dressed comfortably.
Stretch, Recovery and Opacity Approval
The current reference states stretch-fabric and a composition of 59% cotton, 30% polyester and 11% elastane. Those verified facts do not establish a numeric recovery, growth, shrinkage or opacity result.
Approve the selected fabric in garment form. Where performance limits are required, record the conditioning method, measurement method, wear or extension cycle and acceptance criteria in the technical specification. Recheck the knee, seat, waistband and lower leg after the agreed assessment because close fits make changes more visible.
Functional Side-Pocket Construction
On a close stretch fit, pocket angle, depth, bag shape and attachment can affect the front panel and side seam. An opening that is too loose may gape; excess pocket-bag bulk may show through the garment or restrict movement.
Define pocket opening length, depth, placement landmarks and reinforcement details in the tech pack. Review access, symmetry, bag coverage and the garment at rest and in movement. If the pocket construction changes, reapprove the fit sample.
Finish and Finished Measurements
see the denim sampling and approval process
The live page describes a classic denim finish but does not name a wash process or numeric shade standard. Use an approved garment, swatch or visual reference when a specific appearance is required. The selected finishing route can affect hand feel, stretch behavior and dimensions.
For repeat production, compare the finished garment with the buyer-approved sample or finish reference. Check shade direction, seams, waistband, pockets and final measurements. State clearly whether the measurement chart applies before or after finishing.

Buyer Requirement and Approval Controls
| Buyer Requirement | Manufacturing Risk | Control Method | Approval Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pull-on access with stable high rise | Opening is restrictive, rolls or gaps | Review waist opening, rise, waist-to-hip balance and fabric together | Buyer-approved fabric and fit sample |
| Controlled skinny silhouette | Bagging, twisting or inconsistent taper | Define thigh, knee, calf and ankle POMs | Approved measurement chart and finished sample |
| Consistent 7/8 proportion | Hem position changes disproportionately across sizes | Define base-size length and grading direction | Approved graded spec or size-set evidence |
| Functional flat side pockets | Gaping, show-through, bulk or restricted access | Define opening, depth, bag and attachment | Approved pocket construction and fit sample |
| Required stretch behavior | Growth, opacity or recovery differs from expectation | Record project-specific method and acceptance criteria | Approved requirement and applicable project evidence |
| Stable finished measurements | Finishing changes waist, hip, length or opening | Define pre-/post-finish state and verify final garment | Finished measurement report against approved spec |
Private-Label Customization
Subject to development review, buyers can customize:
- high-rise position, waistband depth and waist-to-hip fit;

- side-pocket opening, depth, bag and reinforcement;
- approved stretch-denim fabric, color and finish direction;
- topstitching and approved trim details;
- woven labels, care labels, hangtags and packaging.
Use the OEM clothing manufacturing route for a complete buyer specification. Projects starting from images, a reference garment or a partial concept can use the ODM development route. Compare other silhouettes in the custom jeans product range or review the skinny-jeans sourcing guide.
